I'm absolutely thrilled to give a glowing recommendation to my instructor, Tim, who helped me pass my test on my first attempt! From my very first lesson, he made me feel comfortable and at ease by being friendly and supportive. He pushed me out of my comfort zone in a way that boosted my confidence and made me realise I was capable of more than I thought.

What I appreciated most was that my lessons were tailored to me—rather than following a rigid structure, Tim focused on what I wanted to improve, which made a huge difference in my confidence and independence as a driver. Now, I'm excited to start driving with my newfound freedom! I highly recommend Tim and How-2-Drive to anyone looking to learn.
Tim Elley was a fantastic instructor and gave me loads of confidence to be on the roads. His teaching skills were excellent and was a really nice person to be around. I passed first time with 3 minors thanks to Tim and wouldn’t have done it without him! Highly recommend - William Newland

I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor with Tim, his friendliness and knowledge helped me pass with confidence. I looked forward too and will miss our lesssons. Ultimately I would highly recommend Tim Elley and I have been extremely grateful to have come across him as my instructor - George Newland

Thanks to Tim Elley, the boys both passed first time. George and Will thoroughly enjoyed their lessons and we would highly recommend Tim - Emma Newland
Great instructor, lots of patience and always made me feel comfortable during lessons. Creates a great learning environment creating a positive environment and feedback.
I had an intensive course with fiaz and I can’t but into word how brilliant he was. Honestly couldn’t have wished for anyone better. Besides the learning to drive he was a genuine nice man. I couldn’t recommend this company enough. I am now a driver thanks to fiaz so thank you so so much !!!
I had Barry as my instructor, and he was the best. Previously, had two other instructors from two other companies, and they were impatient and shirty. Barry on the other hand, was noble in comparison: calm, dependable, willing to teach and a good laugh tbh. Really gave me the confidence to not only pass but be a decent driver on the whole.

Michaell was the best driving instructor I could have asked for. I never once felt uncomfortable, we got on so so well and had lots of laughs and I will miss our lessons together
100% recommend
My daughter,Josie had Adrian Stimpson as her instructor. He was amazing; professional and also made learning to drive a fun experience. Highly recommend.
Andrew is a fantastic instructor - he's taught myself and brother how to drive in recent years. Today I passed my test first attempt thanks to Andrews lessons across the past year. 😁
I am thrilled to share my experience with Emma as my driving instructor! Thanks to her expert guidance and support, I successfully passed my driving test on the first try. From our very first lesson, Emma's friendly and encouraging demeanor helped me feel at ease behind the wheel.
Her teaching methods are clear and effective, making complex maneuvers easy to understand.
Emma tailored each lesson to fit my learning pace and provided invaluable tips that boosted my confidence. The practical knowledge I gained from her not only prepared me for the test but also for safe driving in the future.
I highly recommend Emma to anyone looking to learn how to drive or improve their skills. Thank you, Emma, for being such an amazing instructor!

Have questions about taking driving tuition with us?

Can I Take Automatic Driving Lessons?
Yes, you can! We now have automatic instructors for the following locations:
Do You Offer Intensive Driving Lessons?

Yes! We are happy to announce that we are now able to offer intensive driving lessons in both the Greater Norwich area and the Lowestoft and Yarmouth areas.

How Long Will it Take to Pass My Test?

If you are a beginner we can teach you to drive to a high standard in around 30 hours. By this point you’ll be ready to pass your test.

If you already have some driving and road experience we’ll aim to do it even quicker than that!

How Many Driving Lessons Will I Need Before I Take My Test?

This is easily one of the most common questions we get asked at How-2-Drive.

We know you want to learn how to drive in as few lessons as possible. We understand that you don’t want to feel rushed. But, at the same time, you also don’t want your tuition to drag on for longer than necessary.

Clearly-structured driving lessons

By using our Structured Driver Training System, we are able to deliver well-planned lessons that have clear objectives. Learning to drive is a considerable investment and we want you to get good value for your money.

According to the DVSA, it takes an average of 47 hours to pass the practical driving test. And that’s for learners who are sensible enough to study with an Approved Driving Instructor. On top of this, the DVSA says an additional 20 hours of private driving practice is also required.

How many sessions can we save you?

But who wants to be average? As a result of our specially-designed Structured Driver Training System, our pupils take 17 hours less than the DVSA average!

Our tried-and-tested system can reduce the time it will take you to learn to drive. We consistently bring our pupils up to pass standard within 30 to 40 hours of instructor contact time.

That’s up to 17 hours less than the average learner driver. We can save you time and money!

How Will I Know How I’m Getting On With My Lessons?

You will be given your own Learning to Drive Handbook when you start taking driving lessons with us. Your instructor will use it to record your progress after each lesson. This will give you a record of how well you are doing and what you need to learn or practice next.

You will also be encouraged to keep a reflective log. You can use this to review your own learning so that you can discuss your objectives with your driving instructor at the start of each lesson.
